The 12th edition of rAge came to a conclusion yesterday (Sunday, 12 October 2014) after three days of gaming, dressing up, queuing, eating, sleeping on the floor, and trying to take in every aspect of the diverse showpiece.
Last year’s event attracted 32,626 visitors, and attendance at rAge 2014 is expected to surpass that – with the organisers estimating that between 35,000 and 37,000 visitors made an appearance at the expo. Final audited figures will be released in the coming days.
Besides the thousands of visitors, The Dome in Johannesburg was packed with 95 exhibitors – including distributors showing off unreleased games, hardware brands displaying the latest tech, and an old lady selling cheese.
The rAge LAN once again proved popular, with 2,500 gamers devoting 72 hours of their lives to joining the biggest local area network gaming setup in South Africa.
But enough talking, we know you came here for the photos. So we upped our game this year and brought a video as well. Below is just a taste of all that there was to do and see at rAge 2014.
