Despite Dragon Age 2 appearing on the horizon, BioWare hasn’t finished rolling out DLC for the original title. That’s if anything BioWare’s Community Coordinator Chris Priestly says has any clout (and it usually does).
Priestly recently replied to a post on the official BioWare forums asking whether the recently released Golems of Amgarrak DLC would be the last for the title. “There is still more Dragon Age: Origins DLC to come. Stay tuned,” was the straightforward reply.
Falling a little short of an official announcement, the prospect of more Dragon Age DLC comes on the back of a rumour doing the rounds. US game retailer GameStop had recently listed the Dragon Age: Origins – Ultimate Edition for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, due for release on 12 October for US$59.99 (±R435).
No information about what the mysterious package might contain were given, sparking many presumptions that it would be a definitive collection of Dragon Age goodness – the original title, the Awakening expansion, and all the DLC. As if the Internet needed more fuel for its fires of rumour, the listings have since been removed from GameStop.
Should the rumoured Ultimate Edition come to light it would be a great bargain for those who have held out for just such a product. Those who have already spent close to R900 for all of the separate packages might feel hard done by – perhaps the lesson here, in the age of DLC, is to wait until a year after initial release and pick up a cheap bundled package.
