Rumour: Duke Nukem Forever picked up by Borderlands developer

According to Eurogamer, development on Duke Nukem Forever has had yet a another breath of renewed life breathed into it. After publisher 3D Realms eventually pulled the plug on Duke Nukem Forever’s troubled development cycle, causing developer 3D Realms to go under, it seemed that we could finally forget about the game.

Gearbox was then named as the developer behind the spin-off title, Duke Begins. Recent rumours now indicate that Duke Begins will never see the light of day.

Instead, Gearbox is supposedly hard at work on Duke Nukem Forever. Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford told Kotaku that “he may be able to better clarify the situation further at this year’s Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle”.
