Irrational Games teases big new title

12 August 2010

Irrational Games has been drumming up some hype around a new title they have in development. This is exciting news from the developers of the original BioShock, but as of this moment we have no idea what the game could be. A teaser Website is in place, asking just what Project Icarus could be.

The reveal is promised for 12 August at 1.45PM, North American Eastern Daylight Time – 19.45PM in South Africa.

Certain international gaming press members have been given an insight to the project already, and are presumably under a non-disclosure agreement until the official reveal is made. Irrational Games studio lead Ken Levine had the following to say via the Irrational Games blo:

“On Wednesday, August 11, we will be revealing Irrational Games’ new project to the press.  At this special event, the press will be seeing a trailer and a live demonstration of gameplay.”

“On Thursday, August 12th, at 1:45 Eastern Daylight Time, we will launch the trailer for our new game at Whatisicarus.com. Our hope is that you all will see it PRIOR to reading any news in the press (which will start to come out around 15 minutes later).”

“Trust me, there’s a reason.”

“In the coming weeks, we will be releasing a video of the demonstration to the community as well.  No promises on the date yet; we’re still figuring that out.”

Very tantalising stuff. Tune in to Whatisicarus.com later tonight to find out what all the fuss is about, and be sure to check in with MyGaming as we uncover all the latest titbits of information regarding this new title.
