Say hello to Dead Space 2’s Multiplayer

13 September 2010

When it comes to games that are meant to scare the pants off of you, it doesn’t get a whole lot better than Dead Space, at least not in the last few years. The sequel is gearing up for release in late January 2011, and is promising to be every bit as awesome as the series progenitor.

One of the game’s new features will be multiplayer, and Visceral Games has given us a taste of what’s in store with a brand new video.

In summary, you will be able to play as one of four human characters whose basic objective it is to survive an ongoing Necromorph onslaught. You can also play as one of four different Necromorphs, and they come in four varieties:

Lurkers: These wall climbing devils posses a long ranged attack.

The Pack: These creepy little buggers are mini-Necromorphs that move fast, and specialise in getting up in your face to exact vicious melee brutality.

Splitter: A female Necromorph with a projectile attack.

Pukers: Aptly named, Pukers specialize in puking toxin venomous, erm, puke, in your face.
