Dragon Age: Origins will be released in Ultimate Edition form around the world on 26 October 2010. The Title includes the original critically acclaimed game (Dragon Age: Origins) and its expansion (Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening).
Nine of the DLC packs released thus far are also included in the package: The Darkspawn Chronicles; Feastday Combo Pack (2-in-1); The Golems of Amgarrak; Leliana’s Song; Return to Ostagar; The Stone Prisoner; Warden’s Keep; and Witch Hunt.
That’s a whole load of content valued at around US$114 (±R780) if one were to buy all the various packages separately. If any RPG fan missed out on this game during its initial release, thre couldn’t be a better time to pick it up. Dragon Age 2 is set for a March 2011 release, so that should be plenty of time to catch up with the story from the first title. It has also been confirmed that Dragon Age: Origins saved games’ persistent world info can be ported across into the sequel.
In South Africa, the only online retailer listing the game at the moment is Zaps Online, for the PS3 and Xbox 360, both coming it at R529. Zaps has no word on PC version pricing yet, and by the time of publication, MyGaming was still awaiting official comment from EA South Africa.
International pricing pegs the PC version at around the US$49.95 mark (±R340), with PS3 and Xbox 360 versions coming in at US$59.95 (±R410). With import duties and so on, it appears that the Zaps pricing is on the mark, so we can expect a PC version to come in at around R440.

To promote the game, BioWare has released the video below, featuring a remix of the 30 Seconds to Mars song, Closer to the Edge – a song which is also featured on the game’s soundtrack.
