Gaming is by no means a cheap hobby. Consoles, TV’s, and gaming PC’s are expensive toys, and to make things worse, new games often go for over R600. Fortunately, most games make their way to the bargain bin eventually, which means that if you don’t feel the need to play a game shortly after its release, you can hang in there until it becomes a less wallet-intensive investment.
Local Johannesburg based games store, Zaps, now has over 100 PS3 games and 100 Xbox 360 games listed for less than R300 each.
Of course there is a lot of trash in there, but there are also some great bargains, including Assassin’s Creed 2, Fear 2, Borderlands, Metro 2033 and Bioshock 2.
Zaps is situated in the Brightwater Commons in Randburg, but they also have an online store and ship games nationwide.

While there is plenty of dicounted gaming goodness on this list, other console games have also been given price cuts but did not quite make the sub-R300 cut. For instance, Zaps is now selling Modern Warfare 2, Dante’s Inferno and Dragon Age for around R350 each.
