Guess who’s turning up as a secret unlockable character in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood? Robocop! Actually, I made that up. It’s Raiden from Metal Gear Solid. Seems like a bit of a disappointment after Robocop, though, doesn’t it? Robocop would be totally awesome.
Of course, Konami and Ubisoft have been BFFs since Altair made his own cameo in Metal Gear Solid 4, so it’s probably not all that shocking or anything to fans. Although, I daresay 15th century Italians might be somewhat alarmed to see a bionic guy climbing the Palazzo Ducale. The designers aren’t even bothering to hide the wires with bits of pizza.
Anyway, Joystiq’s industry moles are reporting that Raiden will become available as a playable character after completing all the tasks in the Animus’s “virtual training” mode, suggesting it’s possible to play with him most of the way through the game. So those of you who managed to get over it not being Robocop can get excited now.
Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood launches for PC, Xbox, and PS3 on 19 November.
