God of War: Ghost of Sparta sexy time “integrated really well” in the game

5 November 2010

The truth is, nobody really plays God of War games for the… whatever it is they’re actually about. Everybody plays God of War games for the sex. You’ll be pleased (in your pants) to know, then, that upcoming PSP title God of War: Ghost of Sparta features sex. And whatever it is that the rest of the game is actually about.

Talking to CVG, Ready at Dawn creative director Ru Weerasuriya talks it up, saying, “”It’s a really fun one that is integrated really well in the game, more so than any of the ones before it. It’s become a staple of God of War but rather than being serious about it, it’s more of a light-hearted way of looking at things and making fun gameplay out of something that is often considered taboo.”

See, it’s not about moral panic, it’s a social statement. And it’s totally intellectual and stuff too.

“This one is cool as a mini-game, there’s some good dialogue in there. It’s also bringing it back to Greek mythology,” he elaborates. “People want to say we did that because it’s God of War but if you read Greek mythology there’s stories about it, so it falls in line with the context, the world a mythology of the game and it works.”

I was going to make the obvious joke about man-man love, but I won’t.
