Uncharted fans, look away, as the news you’ve been hoping wouldn’t come has reared its ugly head.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has been delayed to 27 April 2016, adding another month of perilous waiting from its original 18 March release date.

Speaking on the Playstation Blog, Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann and game director Bruce Straley explained that the delay is to ensure “a few more polish passes” before the game hits shelves.

This is our largest Uncharted, and the team has been working incredibly hard to meet the challenge of closing out the game’s development in a timely manner. However, as we started to approach our final deadlines and started wrapping up the game’s levels, we realised that several key sequences needed extra resources to bring them to the finish line.

There’s not too many details on A Thief’s End story at this point, but our favourite treasure hunter, Nathan Drake, looks to be embarking on his most ambitious and dangerous adventure yet.

An adventure full of steep cliffs to climb, epic shootouts to partake in and a lot of massive explosions to survive.

The gameplay demos have already given us a glimpse of the incredible level of detail and action we’ve come to expect from the series.
