Portal 2 pushed back to April 2011

19 November 2010

According to Valve, Portal 2 will no longer meet its previously proposed February 18, 2011 release date. The game will eventually be released for PS3, PC and Xbox 360.

Making light of the situation, Valve called the Portal 2 delay “the shortest delay in Valve’s proud tradition of delays,” going on to say that “it represents the approaching convergence of Valve Time and Real Time. Though this convergence spells doom for humanity, it will not affect the new Portal 2 release date.”

Portal 2 is the long awaited sequel to Valve’s unexpected hit and instant-classic first-person platformer, Portal. Players once again play as Chell, who has been contained in stasis for several hundred years in the Aperture Science Facility. Chell is awoken by one of GLaDOS’ personality cores to discover that the facility has fallen into disrepair. Chell inadvertently wakes up GLaDOS, who is irritated with her return. GLaDOS begins putting Chell through a series of tests as she rebuilds the center.

You can expect more of the same puzzle solving goodness that made the first game an instant classic, except, now you can expect it 2 months later.
