MTN will soon launch its own line of FTTH (fibre-to-the-home) services and products across South Africa.

This follows confirmation from MTN’s general manager of FTTX and Digital Solutions, Mamello Selamolela, who said that the company hopes to launch a number of new FTTH products soon.

These products will meet the growing demand for the service and will offer lower prices than the current packages.

While the feasibility of uncapped accounts are still being decided, Selamolela notes that MTN’s new products will cater to high-end users by offering them high monthly data caps.

MTN currently serves over 9,000 homes across the country, and that number is set to drastically increase as the cellular-giant expands its fibre footprint in Gauteng, the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Eastern Cape.
