Everything that happened at Ubisoft’s E3 2016 conference: Announcements, trailers and more

If there is one thing that can be said about Ubisoft’s E3 press conferences it is that they are always dependable.

Gamers know that they will be getting high-quality experiences from a number of different franchises in a number of different genres.

And of course, there is always a big surprise at the end.

You can check out all of the conference’s big announcements, details and trailers below:

Just Dance 2017

Ubisoft’s E3 show kicked off with a live dance rendition of Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now (yes really).

The game will be coming to all platforms (including the Nintendo NX) in October.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands

Wildlands was next up with a brand new cinematic trailer and a detailed explanation of the Ghosts’ operation in Bolivia.

The Santa Blanca Cartel controls the Wildlands and its people, and the Ghosts are on a mission to disrupt the organization’s grip on Bolivia.

The game will be set in a massive, dangerous open world with up to 4 player co-op.

Ghost Recon Wildlands releases on PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 7 March 2017.

South Park: The Fractured but Whole

South Park’s creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone were on stage to describe The Fractured but Whole (say it aloud if you don’t get it).

Following the events of the first game, the kids have switched from RPG-roleplaying to “playing superheroes”.

The same core turn-based RPG elements will return, including full customisation options to make your perfect superhero.

The Stick of Truth will also be making it’s way to current-gen consoles, with those who pre-order The Fractured But Whole getting the game for free.

The game will release for PS4, Xbox One and PC on 6 December.

The Division

The demo started with some incredible statistics with over 10 million gamers having put three hours or more into The Division since the game’s release.

“The Underground” will be the game’s first DLC featuring rouge-lite elements, meaning every time you go underground will be completely different.

The Survival and Last Stand DLC packs were also announced.

Players will also be getting three different outfits for free with The Underground as part of Ubisoft’s 30th birthday celebration.

Eagle Flight

Ubisoft’s new VR game was presented by Oculus founders Palmer Luckey and Jason Holtman.

Despite the eagle theme, the game actually holds more in common with sports games and capture the flag (rabbit) mechanics.

Eagle Rift will be on Oculus Rift and all other VR platforms this Spring.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew

Star Trek alums Levar Burton, Jeri Ryan, and Karl Urban helped reveal and play Star Trek: Bridge Crew for the first time.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew is the only game to offer a true-to-life level of immersion in the Star Trek universe, where- as officers of the Federation- every action and decision you make together will determine the fate of your ship and crew.

The game will be available in “Spring 2016”.

For Honor

For Honor’s single player component was finally shown and we were given an idea of what to expect from multiplayer.

“Immerse yourself in a single player tale and embody heroes of all three factions to ensure the survival of your people and foil the plans of the merciless and bloodthirsty warlord, Apollyon”.

The game will feature three playable clans – namely Knights, Vikings, and Samurai.

Gameplay primarily focuses on melee combat, with dozens of enemies on screen and a 3-directional parry/attack system.

The singleplayer campaign is also fully playable cooperatively.

The game will be available on 14 February 2017.

Grow Up

A Grow Home sequel has been announced!

Grow Up is a joyful and ageless fantasy game. BUD, a clumsy and charming robot, is on a mission to find MOM, his parental spaceship.

Leap, bounce, and float in a vast open world as BUD explores the new planet in this beautiful acrobatic adventure.

The game will arrive on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in August.

Trials of the Blood Dragon

Ubisoft’s Trials and Far Cry Blood Dragon series just had a beautiful baby.

The game features classic Trials gameplay with all of Blood Dragon’s style and attitude.

The game is out now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Watch_Dogs 2

The Ubisoft conference was hacked part way through by the group known as Dedsec to bring you news about the upcoming Watch_Dogs 2.

In the first-ever Watch_Dogs 2 gameplay walkthrough, Marcus and his Dedsec allies infiltrate the home of a social media mogul.

Dedsec is looking to expose the CEO of popular social media platform, !NViTE, who is using citizens’ personal data to engineer a corrupt voting process.

Ubisoft will also be continuing its partnership with Sony by releasing a Watch_Dogs movie. PS4 owners will also get all of the game’s DLC 30 days early.

The game releases for Xbox One, PS4, PC in November.

Ubisoft’s brand new IP is an extreme sports snowboarding game.

Defy a massive open world of the Alps and Alaska on skis, wingsuit, snowboard, and in paraglide. The mountain is yours. So strap in, suit up, and drop in.

The game will be available in December.
