Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia HD retail bundles confirmed

1 February 2011

Months of speculation may now be laid to rest, gentlegamers – Ubisoft has officially confirmed that they’re relaunching Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy HD and Prince of Persia Classic Trilogy HD for the PlayStation 3 next month.

The Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy will feature the original Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow, and Chaos Theory, while the Prince of Persia collection includes Sands of Time, Warrior Within, and The Two Thrones; each set will be issued on a single Blu-ray disc. The games will be getting not only an HD upgrade, but will support stereoscopic 3D as well.

Both collections will be available at retail on 22 March, and are priced at $39.99 over in Americaland, which is more or less the same price as a regular new release. Local retailers have not yet confirmed pricing or availability. Digital bundles will also hit PlayStation Network around the same time, although the Prince of Persia titles have all been available – separately – since last year already.
