Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) is issuing a call for all South African gamers to submit their personal choice of game to be included in the annual International e-Sport Federation (IeSF) World Championships.
MSSA is an affiliate of the South African Confederation of Sport and Olympic Committee. As such they represent the interests of South African gamers on a world platform.
Along with the other member National Federations of the IeSF, MSSA has got until the 10th of February 2011 to submit its list of 5 games that it wants to be included in the annual IeSF World Championships.
The MSSA requests that all choice submissions are made before the end of 4 February 2011. Choice submissions, along with a motivation for the choice, can be made on the MSSA’s Facebook page.
“Through this process, every gamer has the opportunity of influencing what is played at an international level. It would therefore be foolish not to state what you want because, if you don’t, other games may be very well advocated,” said Colin Webster, President MSSA.
The MSSA is responsible for the good governance and promotion of board games, e-Sports (whether they are played on ‘cell ‘phones, consoles, personal computers or similar), and historical figure games (also known as wargames).
The IeSF aims to achieve four main objectives while pursuing joint development in global e-Sports. They strive to continually grow the number of member nations of the organisation, with a goal of 25~35 members by the end of 2011; standardise international e-Sports; provide international human resource training for the e-Sport arena; and host world class e-Sport tournaments.
