Dragon Age II demo announced, for real this time

4 February 2011

BioWare has announced that the Dragon Age II demo will be released on 22 February 2011 for all platforms – that’s PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. The confirmation is especially good news for PC gamers who were left in Dragon Age II demo anticipatory limbo over the past couple of days, thanks to the unconfirmed rumour of a demo for their platform.

In the demo, players will venture through the game’s prologue, choosing from three different character classes. They’ll also learn more about protagonist Hawke. After finishing the prologue, players will enter a new key location in the world of Dragon Age, Kirkwall, whereupon they will befriend Isabela, a romantic interest in the game who is also a deadly smuggler. Upon completion of the demo, players will unlock a special weapon, Hayder’s Razor, an ancient Dwarven blade which increases health, mana, and combat abilities, ready for use in the full release of Dragon Age II.*

Dragon Age II is scheduled for launch on the PlayStation3, Xbox 360 and PC on 11 March 2011 in South Africa and Europe.
