This weekend you can earn double the amount of experience points as usual when you play Call of Duty: Black Ops online. The Double XP weekend celebrates the release of the game’s first DLC map map pack: First Strike.
Although the First Strike DLC is only available on Xbox 360 at the moment, the double XP weekend applies to the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game.
The double XP weekend is already on the go, and will end on Monday at 8AM Pacific Time, which according to my calculations means we will get until Monday 6PM to cash in on the XP bonus.
The First Strike DLC adds five new maps
• Berlin Wall: a new map surrounding the iconic barrier, gives players access to both sides of Cold War Berlin.
• Stadium: delivers plenty of fast-paced, close-quarters combat set in the backdrop of a sports complex.
• Discovery: is an abandoned German outpost set along the coast of Antarctica.
• Kowloon: spans the tiered levels of high-rises and rooftops of Kowloon City, Hong Kong.
• Ascension: First Strike also features an all new experience for the fan-favourite Zombies mode. The new level, Ascension, pits players against hoards of vicious, perk-stealing zombie monkeys, flesh-eating Soviet Zombies and more in a trap-filled, Cold War era cosmodrome.
