The annual Entelect Challenge tests the creativity and programming skills of contestants by requiring them to write creative and efficient AI programs that can outsmart and overcome their opponents.
On Saturday 17 September 2016, entrants went head to head in the Entelect Challenge playoff at The Venue Greenpark, where eight bots came out on top.
These finalists will have their bots battling it out for the top spot and cash prizes on Saturday 8 October 2016 on the main stage at rAge at 11:00.

The theme of the 2016 challenge is centred around the classic 1980’s strategy maze-based game, Bomberman.
Multiple players will be abandoned in a maze arena and have to outlast their opponents to be the last one standing.
Prize money will be awarded to the top eight performing bots competing in the AI Challenge, with the top three getting R70 000, R35 000 and R25 000 respectively.
