There’s nothing cooler than catching an Easter egg in one of your favourite movies.
It not only means the director put extra care into his film making but that they are on more or less the same wavelength as their audience.
But it’s easy to stick a reference in any movie and be done with it – what about those movies that are actually near and dear to your heart?
Check out 8 awesome Easter eggs from your favourite movies below:
Star Wars: The Force Awakens (007 Stormtrooper)
How do you make sure you go down in the cinematic history?
Make sure you’re not only appear as the lead in the iconic James Bond franchise but also in the reboot of Disney’s Star Wars franchise.
That’s exactly what Daniel Craig did, as he is the Stormtrooper who is mind-controlled into releasing Daisy Ridley’s Rey in the Force Awakens.
I Am Legend (Batman vs Superman)
When I Am Legend released in 2007 Christopher Nolan’s Batman Trilogy had only just got off the ground and DC Cinematic Universe was practically non-existent.
That’s why this scene depicting a Batman/ Superman is incredibly impressive.
Sure, one could argue that given the popularity of the characters it was bound to happen sooner rather than later but even the logo used is eerily similar to the final product.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Sexy maps)
Harry Potter never really got into the topic of sex in the wizarding world.
Most of its romantic plot-lines revolved around the “will they, won’t they” drama that is typical of most teenagers growing up.
That’s why it was a bit of a shock to see this cheeky Easter Egg at the end of the Prisoner Azkaban that looks suspiciously like two wizards going at it on the Marauders map.

The Departed (Deadly X’s)
Some of the best filmmakers use their cinematographer to tell a story just as much the script.
While foreshadowing and foreboding imagery is nothing new in cinema, Martin Scorcese was right on the nose with his use of “Xs” for characters who were about to perish in his gangster-classic The Departed.
Fight Club (Starbucks cup)
What’s the best way to shoot a movie about rabid consumer culture?
Make a cup of Starbucks visible in every scene in the movie.
Don’t believe us? Check out this blog that’s dedicated to finding where every cup can be found.
Iron Man 2 (Every upcoming Marvel movie)
One of the greatest parts of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is how every film ties into one another – sometimes in major ways without us even realising.
Take the post-credits scene in Iron Man 2 which featured a SHIELD map shown in the background.
The map highlights various well known locations including New Mexico (Thor), New York (The Hulk), Antarctica (where Captain America is discovered), and the fictional country of Wakanda – home to the Black Panther.
Anchorman (Mexican “fast” food)
In a movie filled with sight-gags and silly wordplay, some of the Anchorman’s funnier and more subtle laughs were lost on viewers.
One of the least well known is the name of the Mexican restaurant rival anchor, Veronica Corningstone, is first shown eating at.
The Spanish “Escupimos en su Alimento”, translates roughly to “we spit in your food”.
