In the vain of turning anything remotely popular on the internet into a film property, Sony Pictures has been hard at work (we hope) on a Slender Man movie, and the first trailer has been released.
Now, anyone who’s aware of the Slender Man internet stories and video games (Slender: The Eight Pages and Slender: The Arrival) know that subtlety is key with regards to the frights the lanky, other-worldly being brings.
It seems like the movie is attempting to recreate that, and takes the “he gets in your head” approach. There’s only one or two shots of Slender Man himself, but it seems like the film will follow the effects the creature has on children.
Slender Man is scheduled for a May 2018 release.
