PlayStation has begun rolling out its latest system update, which includes better controls for voice chat parties, UI enhancements on PS5, as well as some new accessibility features.
The announcement also mentioned that Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) is planned to release on PS5 in the coming months. The update should start to roll out at the end of this month.

Open and Closed Parties
Users can now create or join open and closed parties on the PS5 and PS4, giving you more control over your social groups.
Share Play directly from voice chat
Users can now Share Play directly from voice chat, which is an improvement on the old system that required you to start up the share screen first. You’ll also be able to control individual voice volumes in your party, see all your friends, send messages, images, and videos, as well as view a group’s shared media.
UI improvements
The updated UI features include a new genre filter, which improves the visual design of the trophy card and trophy list. This gives you better control of what appears on your home screen, as well as makes it easier to stream gameplay to an open party.
Accessibility features
PlayStation has also added mono audio support for headphones which will improve the gaming experience of those who have unilateral hearing loss. It has also enhanced their on-screen text to audio reader function, which now supports 15 languages.
PS App and PS Remote Play enhancements
The update also brings enhancements to the PS App and PS Remote Play, which allows users to create and join parties through the app, while a new dark mode has been added to be consistent with the ongoing PS5 changes.
The announcement also mentioned that the ps5 will soon support VRR on HDMI 2.1-compatible TVs and PC monitors, which will enhance visual performance for PS5 games by minimizing or eliminating visual artifacts, such as frame pacing issues and screen tearing.
