Apex Legends Mobile announced yesterday that the mobile version of Respawn Entertainment and EA’s battle royale will launch globally today, May 17, for Apple and Android devices.
The announcement includes the times at which each region would get access to the game, as well as a new launch trailer.
Apex Legends Mobile also revealed an exclusive new Legend that will be available at launch and four game modes.
For legends looking to time their drop just right.

New legend: Fade
Fade is a mobile-exclusive legend, and his abilities are showcased in the new launch trailer.
His abilities include the following:
- Passive: Slipstream — Fade gains a short movement speed boost at the end of his slide.
- Tactical: Flashback — Fade’s suit allows him to rewind time by several seconds, phasing him to his previous location.
- Phase Chamber — Fade throws an explosion that phases everyone within the radius for a few seconds, making them unable to deal or receive damage.
Along with Fade, players have access to ten Legends, including Bloodhound, Wraith, Octane, Caustic, and Lifeline.
Game Modes
Apex Legends Mobile will launch with four main game modes, which include the following:
- Classic Battle Royale
- 3v3 Arenas
- Quick Battle, a faster-paced version of battle royale
- Team Deathmatch
However, Apex Legends Mobile has added a mobile-exclusive option called Advance Training Level.
In this mode, you can practice advanced techniques and weapon handling skills in a free environment.
Additionally, they have added the Overflow Arenas map to the mobile adaption, see the image below for a teaser.
The game will also come with a new ‘team fill’ feature which will bring players into your team during active games if another player leaves prematurely.
