Star Trek trailer beams in

18 April 2012

Namco Bandai has released a new trailer for Star Trek – the game that will tie into the movie sequel next year.

The third-person shooter is set to launch on PS3 and 360 in the first quarter of 2013, prior to the May release of the next Star Trek movie from director and producer, J.J. Abrams.

“The game is based on a stand-alone storyline that continues the adventure of iconic characters, Kirk and Spock as they work together to stop an enemy race bent on conquering the galaxy,” explained Namco.

The video shows some gameplay strikingly similar to that of Mass Effect, and shows a glimpse of Kirk and Spock fighting together. Whether this could mean that the game features co-op is uncertain, but it would be a great addition.
