I’m actually at a bit of a loss for games to play right now, having just finished The Witcher 2. Duke Nukem Forever is out, but for me personally, I think Duke may just be better off left in the history books, heavily coated in nostalgia. It’s already Sunday and I’ve hardly touched any games, but on the plus side I have been able to work on my much neglected golf swing.

This weekend, after a recommendation from fellow PC master race member James Etherington-Smith, I’m going to be playing Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Somehow this one seemed to slip past me, and an underpants staining is well overdue. I’m a big fan of the horror genre in general so I’m pretty excited to give this a try. When it all becomes too much, I’ll probably fall back on continuing to grind my way through the Witcher 2, despite being about as capable with a sword as Samwise Gamgee on acid.

It’s Duke Nukem Forever all the way this weekend. Otherwise, I’ve been nursing a serious Minecraft addiction this week and maybe even the Duke won’t be able to keep me away for too long. My floating sky fortress-volcano will strike fear into the hearts of men!

First I was hampered by the PSN debacle, then an excruciatingly slow 15GB download, and now it’s a Saturday spent humiliating my mate at his bachelor party, but come Sunday all these speedbumps will be a thing of the past as I finally fire up inFamous 2 for review. Granted I’ll be doing it with alcohol-induced throbbing in my skull and stripper glitter in various crevasses, but neither rain nor sleet nor pitiless Jo’burg cold will prevent me from electrocuting evildoers this weekend.

Hopefully, this weekend I will be spending some time with Infamous 2 and White Knight Chronicles 2 (what is up with all these damn sequels lately!?)
The first Infamous was a favourite of mine – one of the first games where I actually felt like a hero/villain. As for White Knight Chronicles, it looks to be a good investment since it releases with the original which is now remastered. For the second game they have sped-up combat and finally players get their own incorruptus (think giant mecha), which is awesome! Add to that tons of online questing and you are set for hundreds of hours.
If that does not work out, then I will spend some time with Tales of Symophina: Dawn of the New World on Wii, or Vanquish, which I have been putting off for no good reason. Either way a great gaming weekend!
