This weekend I’ll start making my way through the heap of games I’ve collected via the Steam Summer sale over the past week. I’m also still eyeing Terraria, although I can’t justify spending any more money until I’ve at least made a dent in my ever-growing back-catalogue.

This weekend I’ve got the budget on the mind, so I’ll be having a lazy time indoors. But you know what’s free? Gaming (well, not really at all, it’s kind of really expensive). This weekend I’m going to get a bit nostalgic with Call of Duty 4, as Crysis 2 has unfortunately lost my interest.
I also plan on having a crack at FEAR 3, or F.3.A.R. if you’re one of the cool kids (read: pathetically lame). So I’ll be hunched in front of the screen with all the lights off, slowly losing my mind. Hope I don’t wake the neighbours.

Operation 50 000 Gamerscore is GO, I repeat GO. I’m thinking a tactical replay of one or two Transformers: Dark of the Moon missions should do it, which may or may not also absolve the game of its otherwise definitive unawesomeness.
Before that however, I have to go ten-pin bowling with a bunch of accountants. [Ed: That’s what she said!] That’s not actually a euphemism for anything, I really am going ten-pin bowling with a bunch of accountants. [Ed: Aaaawww]

I must admit I’ve been a bit slow in completing Shadows of the Damned, and I think the Steam Summer Sale is the root cause. The title is a collaboration between No More Heroes director Goichi Suda, Resident Evil 4 director Shinji Mikami, and Silent Hill audio director Akira Yamaoka. The game stars demon hunter Garcia who makes his way through hell to save the woman he loves. This weekend should be filled with plenty of tongue in cheek demon slaying.
In between I’ll be tucking in to some of the great games I nabbed on Steam – Batman Arkham Asylum; Sanctum; Men of War: Assault Squad; and Defense Grid should keep me busy enough. I still have plenty of tickets to collect to broaden my chances in the 10 free games competition.

White Knight Chronicles II, and even more White Knight Chronicles II!
Seriously, that game is addictive as hell, albeit a grind-fest. It is akin to MMORPGs in so many ways and takes hundreds of hours to achieve everything you want.
Otherwise, I may go pickup something such as Alice: Madness Returns, F.3.A.R or Shadows of the Damned. Maybe I will finish up The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Not sure why I did not finish it the first time around? Hmm… Too many distractions methinks.

Dan didn’t reply this week. We heard he’s off saving the multiverse by fusing Pokemons through a rip in space-time while a cute cat with a giant sword eats sushi nearby – or whatever happens in those Japanese games.
