This week’s digital download specials include a bunch of indie delights (including some freebies), as well as discounted games on popular services Steam, GOG.com, PSN, and Xbox LIVE.
The Free Bundle
Wallets may be stretched thin following the silly season, but if you’re still itching for something new to play then you can check out The Free Bundle.
This new initiative aims to promote some fledgling indie developers and their games by giving away the title for free. Of course, you are encouraged to let your conscience guide you and donate directly to the developers if you enjoyed their game.
This month The Free Bundle includes: survival driving game, Nitronic Rush; side-scrolling psychological horror game, Ascension; Action-puzzle-platformer, Celestial Mechanica; Minecraft meets Slender in Imscared; and journey down retro lane with a gameplay mechanics mash-up in Abobo Big’s Adventure.
Indie Royale Replay Bundle
Over on Indie Royale is the Replay Bundle which includes some impressive titles such as the multiplayer FPS/RTS hybrid Nuclear Dawn, tower defense gem Defense Grid, sci-fi point-n-click adventure Gemini Rue, and dungeon crawlers Soulcaster and Soulcaster II.
Indie Royale uses a floating minimum payment price which increases as more bundles are purchased. It is currently sitting at just over US$5.
