February continues to deliver the big-hitters, as following on from the creepy sci-fi horror Dead Space 3, we now get more intergalactic killing with Aliens: Colonial Marines; but don’t worry, for those who want to avoid nightmares, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is also hitting the 3DS.
Aliens Colonial Marines
After being in development for an excessively long time, Aliens: Colonial Marines finally arrives this week.
Developed by Gearbox Software, Aliens: Colonial Marines is set to deliver a suspense and adrenaline-filled single-player experience, along with a 4-player drop-in drop-out cooperative campaign and competitive multiplayer mode.
Players will have to work together and watch each other’s backs, as those pesky limb-tearing, acid-blooded baddies seem to appear out of everywhere.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
After making a jump from consoles to PCs (with positive reception), Sonic’s cameo-filled racer arrives on Nintendo’s 3DS handheld this week.
Sonic & All Stars Racing features over-the-top speed and vibrant tracks; and while it was always compared to Mario Kart, it found a place of its own amongst karting fans.
The 3DS release has some unique features, including the ability to play as your Mii, along with StreetPass challenges which allows you play with up to seven of your friends using multi cart or single cart play.
Lee Joseph was pleased with Sonic’s karting return in his Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed review on PS3, saying that “With the right balance of entertainment and fun, SEGA’s Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is true to the genre.”
