Retailers drop prices on laptops, consoles, games

Dead space

South African gaming retailers have extended a number of respective specials they are holding.

Kalahari is featuring a discount on some big titles, while Takealot is offering a cult classic for under R100.

Makro features some appealing console specials, and if you are looking for some digital specials, MyGaming has covered the newly released online digital game deals.

Kalahari has some game specials on offer due to their birthday sale and clearance sale converging. Various titles are on special, and stocks are limited, so head on over to check out what they’ve got.

For example, FIFA 13 PC is going for R282, Dark Souls PS3 for R159, Max Payne PS3 for R198, and Tomb Raider PS3 and Xbox 360 for R329.

The shamefully underplayed Collector’s Edition of Rayman Origins is on special for R198 on PS3, and R159 on Xbox 360

Dead Space 3 is also on discount for all platforms: R249 on PS3 and Xbox 360, and R209 on PC.

However, the BT Games Dead Space console special trumps this (below), and for a PC version you can’t really beat the Humble Origin Bundle at this point (if you don’t mind downloading it)

Makro – PS Vita bundle: R2,299

Makro also has a decent deal on the PS Vita Wi-Fi. While the console itself generally goes for R2,000, Makro’s bundle throws in some games and accessories to get your started.

Yeah they better cut the price of that laptop… No SSD? 15inch screen? Did anyone buy that for 25k? WTF

Also guys don’t forget about that Humble Bundle if you are looking at Dead Space 3 for PC.

  • Hraffnir

That’s true… for those specs, that laptop is NOT worth 25k. Not even a Haswell processor for goodness sake (not that I’m wowed by Haswell but in that price range you’d expect it).

    It’s also aesthetically challenged.

  • Marchant Volschenk

    Dead space 3 for R209.
How about you just buy the humble bundle which has the included and 9 other games for whatever you want if you pay $4.85.
Unless you don’t have internet then it might not be worth it.

  • Glordit

It’s Dion Wired I kind of expected suuuuper high pricing.

  • Hraffnir

You do have a point. 🙂

I just feel sorry for people who might have actually bought this (sadly poor looking) laptop for its original price.

  • Bl1zz4rd

I too, feel sorry for whomever paid R25 000 for what clearly should have been priced at the decreased price from the start.

    For 25k I’d go straight for an MSI GT70 which has a full HD 17.3″ display, 2x 128GB SSDs, a 1TB HDD, 24GB of RAM and a GTX 780 4GB.

Dion Wired… you sad, sad store.

  • Hraffnir

    Mmm, now that’s a fine laptop. 🙂
