2014 has produced some great games, but 2015 promises to completely eclipse it when it comes to AAA releases. Here are some of the best games you can look forward to next year.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

The open-world adventure of The Witcher 3 is said to be about 30 times the size of previous Witcher titles with the most diverse landscapes ever created. The game is set to blow RPG fans away, in addition to concluding the story of Geralt of Rivia. Magic, intense combat, mystical beasts, a massive world to explore – this is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Set one year after the events of Arkham City, Scarecrow has taken over Gotham and united all of Batman’s enemies with the aim of finally destroying the masked hero. Arkham Knight will feature a vast new city to explore, new gadgets, and the Batmobile.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (PS4)

The end of Drake is upon us, as the adventurer is pushed to his physical and mental limits. The latest instalment in the multi-award winning franchise is touted to truly test the graphical capability of the PS4 and will be one of the best looking games you will play in 2015.

BloodBorne (PS4)

Dubbed as the successor to Demon Souls, BloodBorne takes place in the forsaken city of Yharnam, which, over the years, has seen many travellers make pilgrimages to its gates to find cures for their various ailments and afflictions. A forsaken city full of sick and dying people – cue mutated monsters that need their heads blown off.

Homefront: The Revolution (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Despite rumours of the franchise being cut from the industry, Crytek recently revealed the completely rebooted Homefront: The Revolution. The game is set in 2029, two years after the events of it predecessor, and four years into the Greater Korean Republic’s invasion of the United States. It’s time for the revolution to fight back.

The Order: 1886 (PS4)

The Order of the Knights keeps the world safe from half- breed monsters and other sinister creatures. Your job is to join their ranks, pick up a few steam-punk inspired weapons, and keep the streets clean.

Dying Light (PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC)

A zombie apocalypse is nothing new, but Dying Light is more than just another game cashing on a profitable genre. During the day your undead opponents may be slow and cumbersome, but as soon as the sun sets they become agile and ferocious. Judging from the trailer, below, this game will be a must buy next year.

Mortal Kombat X (PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC)

The latest entry into the Mortal Kombat franchise is said to reinvent gore, feature a non-linear storyline, provide new challenges for both good and evil characters, and allow you to rip the beating heart out of your opponent’s chest. Finish him!

Halo 5: Guardians (Xbox One)

Halo is back, nearly. Guardians is set to release late in 2015, and, to be honest, not much is known about this game yet. We have been told it will run at 60fps on the Xbox One and will feature a new Spartan.
