It’s not too late to start playing these games

Following my recent column on games where it’s too late to start playing, I thought it would be a good idea to bring some balance to the force.

Today we take a look at games which are easy to get into, even if there is an established user base who have put in many a sleepless night into levelling up their character.

These are the games that it’s not too late to start playing – so get stuck in!

Destiny

Even with all its loot problems, Destiny is a great title to play. It eases you into the game’s mechanics slowly, and by the time you reach level 20 you will be a skilled FPS player.

Destiny features great co-op missions and the Crucible is a zone free of those CoD players who kill you as you respawn. Don’t worry that you are a month or two behind – get in there and start fighting, guardian.

The Elder Scrolls Online

The Elder Scrolls Online is probably the prettiest and easiest MMO to get the hang of. If you have never played any Elder Scrolls title before, never fear, there is a great “learning” portion of the game that will teach you the ropes.

The game is gigantic and exploring it will take some time, but at least you won’t have hundreds of hours of expansions to catch up on.

Diablo 3

Diablo 3 is another title on this list that eases you into the game. You slowly level up and unlock new skill slots and abilities while never feeling overwhelmed by the game’s mechanics.

Sure, the level 70 players might seem intimidating, but by the time you get the hang of things you will be on your way to collecting legendary loot and killing hordes with ease.

Fifa (Insert year)

The nice thing about Fifa is that it is basically the same every year with minor visual and gameplay enhancements. Combined with a customisable difficulty level, and the fact that soccer is likely to be popular for many years to come, and you have a game that is perfect for new recruits.

Forza

If you enjoy racing games but are more interested in arcade-style racing as opposed to an authentic simulator, then Forza is for you. I would recommend Forza Horizon 2, as its open-world environment gives a sense of freedom and fun you cannot get from a track.

If you are really feeling brave, turn off the ABS and traction control and see how much rubber you can burn around Europe.
