Mobile games which should be on PC and console

24 November 2014

Following our recent piece on some sad mobile ports of great games, we thought it would be fitting to reverse the situation and look at epic mobile games which should be brought to PC and consoles.

If I saw one of these games on Steam as a full release title I would totally buy it.

Modern Combat 5

What it plays like: Call of Duty

The Modern Combat franchise has always been one of the greatest FPS games on a mobile platform and it is hard to believe that such an immersive, beautiful experience has not migrated from its mobile home.

Modern Combat 5 plays similarly to Call of Duty, boasting great customisation options and a nifty multiplayer, too.

Oceanhorn

What it plays like: The Legend of Zelda

In Oceanhorn you play as a boy who explores dungeons, fields, and castle while armed with a sword, bow, and shield. During the game you chop up goblins, grass, and coins (which you collect), all while trying to save the kingdom.

Oceanhorn might sounds like a Zelda rip-off, but it actually pretty great in its own right. Visually outstanding with great detail, this title will keep you busy for many an hour.

Chaos Rings

What it plays like: Final Fantasy

Chaos Rings has a deep, immersive RPG battle system, classic Final Fantasy styled music, and a pretty decent storyline. The game has been such a hit on mobile platforms that it received two sequels – not too shabby.

If Square Enix had any sense it would turn this masterpiece into a proper game post-haste.

Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time

What it plays like: Plants vs. Zombies

Why this hasn’t released on consoles yet is still a mystery given that its predecessor was only every console under the sun. A paid version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 with all the bits and bobs would sell well in my opinion – even the Wii U could have a version.

Real Racing

What it plays like: Forza

The Real Racing franchise has built a solid standing in the mobile gaming community, with Firemonkeys Studios managing to bring a console racing experience to your smartphone. The game features over 90 cars and 22 tracks, and this is just the beginning of the franchise.

Bring it to console, please.
