Among the many games set to release this year, there are a few that have our intrigue metre needles hovering in the red-zone, but exactly which games are we most desperate to know more about?
Dead Island 2 (Xbox One, PS4, PC) – 2015
Deep Silver and Spec-Ops: The Line developer, Yager, are teaming up for a brand new take on the Dead Island series. What we do know is that it’s set in Los Angeles this time around, and that it will sport eight-player cooperative zombie killing action, and that’s about it. We need to see more of this shambling survival adventure.
Batman: Arkham Knight (Xbox One, PS4, PC) – June 2015
Rocksteady is donning cape and cowl for one last go at the Arkham series, and we’re already speculating who’s under the Arkham Knight’s mask (no, the title doesn’t refer to Batman). June couldn’t come sooner.
The Division (Xbox One, PS4, PC) – April or later 2015
Ubisoft Massive’s ambitious, persistent online shooter is an enormous undertaking. We’ve seen developer walkthroughs, but now we want to get our hands on some new details, or even the game, to see its visually impressive Snowdrop Engine in action.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (Xbox One, PS4, PC) – 19 May 2015
CD Projekt RED bumped the conclusion to Geralt’s story from last year to May of this year, which hasn’t made the wait any easier for The Witcher 3; we do know it’ll be worth it. There’s a whole lot more this game is hiding in its vast open-world than has been shown, and we can’t wait to, quite literally, stab our way through it.
Halo 5: Guardians (Xbox One) – Q3/Q4 2015
We’re eager to see more of 343 Industries’ next project, especially after the incredibly intriguing trailer released, showing Master Chief under scrutiny by a Spartan Locke. Will there be a co-op mode, and how will it affect the campaign? Will you even play as Master Chief? Only time will tell…
That’s our short list, but don’t presume that those are the only games we’re interested in. In fact, if we did a full-blown list, well we’d still be writing it. There’s a lot to be excited about, and it makes bidding a fond farewell to the last generation that much easier.
So tell us, what are your preferred upcoming titles. What’s got you the most buzzing? Might it be Mortal Kombat X, or was it Bloodborne? And then there’s The Phantom Pain and Final Fantasy XV of course.
