Games you can play this week - mysteries and mighty heroes - Everyone's gone to the Rapture

A new week and a host of new games to indulge in. Prepare yourself for a few mysteries, a little nostalgia, family-values and, well, goats in this week’s game releases.

Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture – August 11

(PS4)

The Chinese Room is returning to their roots of thoughtful, story-driven games with their next project, a spiritual successor to Dear Esther called Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture.

Unlike the large majority of apocalypse-themed video games we get each year, this is a quiet apocalypse. Fans of atmospheric games should check it out this week.

Toy Soldiers: War Chest – August 11

(PS4)

Toy Soldiers: War Chest is a fast-paced genre-bending mix of strategic defence and intense action that brings to life the iconic toys and action figures from your childhood, such as He-Man and GI Joe.

Like other tower-defence and strategy games, War Chest allows you to lead from the strategic level, placing and upgrading turrets, or take direct command of your units and heroes to deliver assaults.

You can also customise your loadout before battle and upgrade your arsenal while fighting through the main campaign, or grab up to three other friends and take the fight online in multiplayer.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons was probably my favourite digital game of all time. It’s definitely a must play.
