Games you can play this week – punches and Pikachu

If you’re looking for a fight, this week’s video game releases will give you more than enough ways to deliver a beat-down – whether it be in an octagon or battle arena and dungeon.

Here are our picks of the week:

EA Sports’ UFC 2 – 15 March

(PS4, Xbox One)

Bringing the pain this week is UFC 2, which follows-up the original game with new innovations, stunning character likeness and new animations, adding an all new Knockout Physics System and authentic gameplay features.

There are also five brand new game modes, a revamped Career Mode (which introduces the option to create female fighters for the first time in a UFC game), and a new Title Chase system for Online Championships.

Pokkén Tournament – 18 March

(Wii U)

Essentially a bizarre baby between Tekken and Pokémon, Pokkén Tournament is a new fighting game that lets players use their favourite Pokémon characters to battle it out in fighting arenas.

It’s the Pokémon fighting game we’ve wanted since the first episode of the anime debuted, and its use of tried-and-tested fighting mechanics gives it a great chance of impressing.
