The PlayStation Neo is the new mid-generation version of the PlayStation 4 which will feature more power than the current console.
The PlayStation Neo (previously titled the PlayStation 4.5 or PS4K) has been the subject of rumour and speculation for months, with multiple leaks from various sources confirming its existence.
Here is everything we know so far about the PlayStation Neo:
Release
Recently, industry sources revealed that the upcoming iteration of the PlayStation would probably release this year.
Sony has made efforts to keep its user base unified when the new console releases, requiring that every PlayStation 4 game from October 2016 releases with a ‘base mode’ mode in addition to a ‘NEO mode’.
The PlayStation 4 and the NEO will use the same PlayStation Store and will both be connected to the PlayStation Network – allowing users to play games together no matter which version of the console they use.
Specifications
The NEO will support 4K output across all media.
Although Sony has not mentioned the implications of the newer console for PlayStation VR, the more powerful console should be able to deliver a higher-quality virtual reality experience than the current PlayStation 4
