Google Glass: no reselling, lending allowed

19 April 2013

For those of you looking to make a quick buck from flogging second-hand Google Glass kits, you may be sad to know that it is illegal to resell, load and transfer the product without Google’s permission.

According to the Google Glass terms and conditions, picked up by Wired, “you may not resell, loan, transfer, or give your device to any other person. If you resell, loan, transfer, or give your device to any other person without Google’s authorization, Google reserves the right to deactivate the device, and neither you nor the unauthorized person using the device will be entitled to any refund, product support, or product warranty.”

It’s also said that the Google Glass is connected to an individual’s Google account, so the company can track if the product has been transferred.

Wired reached out to Google, who declined to comment.

Google recently sent out the first Explorer Edition of Google Glass to a number of high-profile celebrities around the world.
