Radeon hotfix improves Witcher 2, Dirt 3 performance

AMD has released a hotfix update for its Radeon Catalyst 11.5 graphics card driver. The update promises to improve performance in a variety of new games, as well as fixes numerous other issues.

Unspecified performance improvements are promised for Dirt 3, while Witcher 2 owners with multiple GPUs will be pleased to read that the game now supports CrossFire. Similarly, CrossFire scaling has been added for Brink. Brink performance on single graphics cards has also been optimized.

The hotfix also solves flickering issues with the following games:

– Civilization 5
– Dead Rising 2
– Fallout 3
– Mafia 2
– NBA 2010
– ShenGuiChuanQi
– Starcraft 2
– Warcraft III
– World of Warcraft

The hotfix also adds support for additional stereo 3D capable displays, namely the Viewsonic V3D24wm-LED and various 3D projectors. Furthermore, it resolves a problem whereby certain users were reporting experiencing cursor lag, as well as some video transcoding issues reported when converting multiple H.264 clips to MPEG2 Blu-ray video.
