Corsair’s new DDR4-3400 RAM is fast and shiny

15 January 2015

Corsair has shown off its new and fancy Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4-3400 RAM – promising memory which will push the envelope.

The RAM is made to work on the new X99 motherboards, which means that 128GB of game-destroying awesomeness is available – if you can afford it.

Corsair has not shipped the RAM to SA as yet (as far as I can see), but a 4x4GB kit sells for $999.99 in the States. That’s over R11,000 here.

“It’s built with hand-screened ICs and incorporates patented DHX cooling for reliable performance in demanding environments. And, extracting maximum performance is easy — built-in XMP 2.0 support gives you trouble-free, automatic overclocking,” said Corsair.

The company also hinted at a 16GB module size coming to the market in 2015 – although they gave away nothing more than that.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Dominator Platinum RAM – just as I was before I started working here – watch this video to see just how cool it is.
