An EA executive has stated that tablets will offer a console-style gaming experience in the near future.
EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said he believes tablets are growing in popularity and will become a bigger part of the company’s business going forward.
“What gets us the most excited is the power, the computing power, of mobile devices and the speed at which that’s growing,” he said, adding that in four years a tablet may have more power than a gaming console.
“And that will open up a whole new set of people to console-style games that are much more immersive, much deeper.”
Combine this with the fact that EA chief creative officer Richard Hilleman recently said the company’s games were “still too hard to learn” and I think EA is basically admitting it will focus all its time and money on making rubbish pay-to-win tablet games that rake in the cash.

I think it would be epic if proper games came to tablets. If I could play Crusader Kings/Europa Universalis 4 on my tablet during my commute and then carry on from where I left off on my PC that would be epic.
Touch input also lends itself to other games (maybe a slightly different version of the Total War games?). Gaming is not all about farking FPSes.
