NVIDIA’s GTX 980 Ti to cost between R9,000 and R12,000

The NVIDIA’s GTX 980 Ti’s specs were recently confirmed, so all we need now is a price.

With performance that approaches a Titan X, the GTX 980 Ti is not going to be cheap, especially not locally where prices are fairly inflated.

That said, the Titan X, starting at around R16,000, is simply too expensive for anyone with a shred of common sense to afford, even if what you’re looking for is a beastly GPU.

At potentially R7,000 cheaper, the GTX 980 Ti may just be the monster card for you.

According to WCCF Tech, the price of the GTX 980 Ti is expected to start at around $799, something Evetech’s price listing for its GTX 980 Ti’s variations confirm:

That said, according to South Korean site HWBattle, says KitGuru, the GTX 980 Ti may well be priced at $649, allowing it to hopefully severely undercut the price of AMD’s upcoming flagship card, the Fiji XT.

AMD’s Fiji XT, officially known as the Radeon Fury, with its high-bandwidth memory is sure to cost and arm and a leg.

So what does that mean for the price of the GTX 980 Ti locally?

With a bit of MyGaming mathematics, which is more estimation and guesswork than anything, we’ve worked out how much more a GTX 980 as well as Titan X costs locally as compared to international prices.

Using those percentages, around 14.5% for the GTX 980 and 24% for the Titan X, the GTX 980 Ti should cost between R9,035 and R9,784 if we’re lucky and the card releases at the much friendlier $659 and R11,122 and R12,045 if it’s $799.
