The South African pricing for the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Founders Edition has been revealed.

According to an industry source, the GeForce GTX 1070 Founders Edition will be priced at R9,000 in South Africa.

This price will vary depending on retailer.

Many hardware companies such as Gigabyte, MSI, and EVGA will release branded versions the Founders Edition cards, and prices may vary slightly between these products.

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Founders Edition is a reference card and does not feature the overclocking and cooling options offered by aftermarket GPUs.

The graphics card is priced at $379 excluding customs and shipping, and although the local pricing of the GeForce GTX 1070 Founders Edition may be relatively expensive, it delivers higher levels of performance compared to other GPUs in its price range.

According to early benchmarks of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070, the graphics card is more powerful than the GeForce GTX 980 Ti – which has caused the price of the GTX 980 Ti to fall rapidly in South Africa.

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Founders Edition will be available in South Africa from 10 June 2016.
