AMD Radeon RX 470 and RX 460 – specifications, release date and performance

AMD Raden RX 470

The detailed specifications and release dates of the Radeon RX 470 and RX 460 have been revealed.

The upcoming Polaris cards will be both less powerful and cheaper than the Radeon RX 480, delivering better performance to the low-end GPU market.

The Radeon RX 470 is designed for “brilliant 1080p gaming“, while the Radeon RX 460 is aimed at eSports gaming, offering console-level performance and marketed at gamers who play competitive titles such as Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

The Radeon RX 460 does not have an external PCIe power connector, meaning that it has a TDP of lower than 75W and can be powered purely over the PCIe slot on the motherboard.

The Radeon RX 470 will be available from 4 August, with the RX 460 releasing on 8 August.

There is currently no information regarding South African pricing or availability.
