The PS Vita has officially been jailbroken

29 July 2016

HENkaku is the first ever homebrew enabler for PS Vita and PSTV.

The enabler allows you to play unoffiical and other homebrew apps on Sony’s portable device.

The enabler can be downloaded directly through the Vita’s browser and requires and requires a memory card with at least 10MB of space.

This may just mark the unofficial death of the PS Vita as Sony has effectively abandoned the console following poor sales.

Still, while this may give pirates an excuse not to pay for games, it will also mean that digital preservation of the PS Vita and its titles will be much more likely.

Sony abandons Vita, yet publishers release games for it all the time, with lots more coming soon.
