Niantic Labs announced it is working on an augmented reality Harry Potter video game.

The developer previously worked on titles like Ingress and Pokémon Go, and has now started on Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.

Wizards Unite will run on mobile devices and require players to explore real-world areas.

“Players will learn spells, explore their real-world neighbourhoods and cities to fight legendary beasts, and team up with others to take down powerful enemies,” said Niantic.

“Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will leverage the full stack of the Niantic Platform.”

Niantic said it will deliver progress updates for Wizards Unite as development continues.
