A new study posted by research group EEDAR has found the main reason people play mobile games.
To nobody’s surprise, the number one answer was simply “to pass time while waiting”.
In addition, very few players (between 12%-16%) wish to spend their mobile gaming time cooperatively or competing against others.
On of the biggest reasons the “hardcore” mobile gamers (those who play competitively or cited mobile as their favourite platform) are so underrepresented is the increased ease of access to mobile data.
This means many people choose to access YouTube or other social media apps rather than choosing to game.
This survey confirms a study completed by Yahoo in 2015 which found a massive decline in the amount of time people spent playing games.
