Man used Xbox LIVE, CoD, to lure 12 year-old sexual victim

5 May 2011

Richard J. Kretovic, a 19 year-old man from Greece, New York, has been indicted (formally accused) by a Monroe County Grand Jury of nine counts each of felony first-degree criminal sexual acts and second-degree sexual abuse, along with one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

These charges are brought against him in relation to one child, with no other victims yet to come forward.

Police accuse Kretovic of playing Call of Duty over Xbox LIVE with the 12 year-old child for three months before he made contact. Details of the meetings were not disclosed, but police say Kretovic met his victim at least twice before he was caught. His nickname on Xbox LIVE was ‘Formic Hivemind’.

Kretovic has been released on US$50,000 bail pending his trial, a date for which has yet to be set.
