Interchange

Developed by Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer games with help from Raven Software, Modern Warfare 3 is due out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on 8 November 2011. It’s the first release from Infinity Ward since the studio all but fell apart last year after studio heads Vince Zampella and Jason West left.

Arkaden

Infinity Ward has confirmed that Modern Warfare 3 will see a revamped killstreak reward system. Killstreaks will now be known as point streaks, and killing enemies will not be the only way to earn points. This should encourage players to focus more on working towards team objectives than simply getting as many kills as possible. Iconic rewards such as the Predator Drone and attack helicopters will be on offer, as well as new rewards, like the Specialist strike package which grants players perks of their choosing after every second consecutive kill. After 8 kills players will receive every perk in the game.

Mission

The ranking and unlock system has also been revamped, and will no longer rely on a currency system. Instead, the player’s primary weapon will level up as they use it, unlocking “proficiency” perks.
