Vote for your alternate DOOM box art

DOOM - Alternative Cover Art

DOOM looks great; there’s no denying it. For the most part, it seems like everything we’ve wanted and more.

Many, however, have criticised the game’s box art for being far less imaginative than the game, itself, promises to be.

Here’s that box, or cover, art:

DOOM - Original Box Art

It’s hardly inventive, a generic super soldier clad in an armoured battle suit that is.

But we thought that was the point, given that the original Doom is one of the progenitors of not only the space marine shooter sub-genre, but FPSs in general – a harkening back if you will.

Nevertheless, id Software has taken the criticism to heart and decided to make the cover art for the upcoming DOOM double sided, and we get to vote for the other side.

With that in mind, id Software has put it to a Twitter poll and you’ve got around three hours to vote for your favourite.

Here’s option one.

And here’s our favourite of the two.

Decide, or don’t. Either way, there’s around three hours left in the poll.

Even if you miss the vote, the results should be interesting no less.

The 2nd one is bos and over the top and exactly what Doom is! GAH I can’t wait for this game!
