With Pokemon GO only officially being available in Australia, New Zealand, and the US, many gamers around the world are itching to join the mobile gaming sensation.
That might explain why the top free game in China on the Chinese iOS App Store today is a Pokemon GO clone titled City Spirit GO.
The game appears to copy Pokemon GO directly (although it does feature unique monster designs) tasking you with travelling around your city, battling and capturing AR creatures.
Despite being a clear copy, reviews seem to be quite positive, as the game offers more or less the same experience as Pokemon GO to Chinese gamers who want to get in on the fun.
Currently the second most popular app in China is “Go Catch ‘Em All”, with no prizes awarded for guessing what series that game is trying to emulate.
