Despite a mixed reception and high prevalence of refund requests, many gamers are enjoying No Man’s Sky, although its performance issues did hamper the gameplay experience at launch.
Despite this, even current players may find fault within the game’s features, such as the ship autopilot preventing you from flying low to the ground and the constant bright and vivid colours.
If you’re still playing No Man’s Sky and want to enhance your experience, check out these game-changing mods:
LowFlight v2.0
LowFlight lets you fly as low to the ground as you want and be able to look in any direction (normally, your ship cannot point downwards when near the ground).
You can also fly underwater and hover.
Reduced Launch Cost
Lowers the plutonium cost for launching your ship from the ground.
Options for 50% of original cost (12.5% of total plutonium per launch) , 25% of original cost (6.25% of total plutonium per launch) and free.
Deep Space v2.0
This mod removes Chromatic Aberration, Scanlines, Depth of Field, and Vignette (Including faux-Binocular vignette).
It also tweaks various visual settings to provide a more varied lighting scheme.
Fast Actions
Fast Actions speeds up certain slower actions within the game, removing the animations or wait times which some players have found tedious.
Reshade Preset
This Reshade preset adds LummaSharpen, HDR effect and new SMAA to the game.
This results in a clearer image and should be used in conjuction with other graphics mods such as No Rim Lighting.
No Rim Lighting
This mod removes the fake rim lighting used on objects, creatures, and terrain throughout No Man’s Sky.
Rim lighting makes it easier to tell apart shapes from the background, but can look ugly in the wrong circumstances.
No Man’s Sky Expedition
The No Man’s Sky Expeditions Mod collection changes a couple of things:
- Walk Speed updated
- Run Speed Updated
- JetPack Speed Updated
- Disabled Fall Damage
- Instant Lift-off
